**Where the Forest Dreams**
*Glazed ceramic sculpture*

A serene, closed-eyed face emerges from an elongated, deeply ridged form, its contours flowing between human anatomy and botanical growth. Ruffled, leaf-like extensions surround the figure, while a crown of curling forms suggests unfolding petals. Cream, moss green, rust, and deep blue glazes gather across the textured surface, emphasizing its folds and recesses.

For many years, she believed the forest was somewhere beyond her, a place she could enter and leave. But in the quiet between waking and dreaming, she began to remember another way of being. Roots stirred beneath her skin, and the wind seemed to carry memories older than her name.

She stopped asking which part of her was human and which belonged to the trees. There was no single moment of transformation, only a gradual loosening of the boundaries she had learned to call herself. With her eyes closed, she listened as the forest grew within her, finding its way back into the world.
